We begin by grounding and orienting together followed by continued exploration of being in relationship to others by looking a the difference between monologing and dialoging.
Have you ever listened to someone and had the felt sense that they were talking at you rather than with you? Have you ever been listening to someone recognizing your formulating your reply more than you're listening to them?
Today we look at how the experiences of the questions above are examples of monologue. We then look at some common beliefs people hold about practicing dialogue as well as a process to support you in engaging dialogically with others.
Rather than criticizing, silencing, or succumbing to our inner critic, we can listen to them and offer compassion.
We then explore a practice for cultivating self-compassion.
